Just a book recommendation and a quick Happy Friday to you all.

The Bonus

by A.J. Adams

Review by Dana Marie

I’m on the fence about this one, however it’s not how you think. I’m deciding if I really like it or love it. If you read the warnings and are still here, this erotic dark tale is definitely something to add to your TBR list.

Chloe may have made some wrong choices, but she sure didn’t deserve death. When she has no place left to run, she jumps right into arms of Kyle hoping to be saved. Except he’s not one of the good guys. She does everything she can to convince him to take her home with him. Anything is better than hanging from a noose or at the mercy of a gang of goons, right? Well, she’s about to find out. Her rescuer is obviously expecting her to repay him over and over again for her life, but it’s what Chloe isn’t expecting that changes her spirits.

I love having both of the characters point of view. The story is well written and kept me reading straight through. Passion and love come breaking through the darkness in this one. You’ll definitely want to grab this one and get to reading.

Three Strikes
by Anya Richards

MM Gay Erotic Romance Novella Contemporary, Police, Interracial
Word Count: 45,000
Heat Index: Scorching

Two lonely men. One secret affair. Irresistible passion that will push them both to the breaking point, and beyond.
A knife attack left ex-Jamaican Posse member Vincent Williams scarred and also made him re-evaluate his life. He’s out of the gang and also the closet but lonely, yet to meet a man who’s interested in more than a one-and-done, a brief sexual encounter.
Because of his career as a police officer, Sergeant Kyle Pictou is afraid of coming out. Normally he doesn’t get involved with anyone close to home, but something about Vincent compels him to take a chance. It’s just sex, after all. Yet, as desire evolves into friendship and seemingly boundless passion, it’s Kyle who’s left wanting more—though he knows he can’t have it.

Review by Dana Marie
This book is about two men who have reached a point in their lives where they seek something more than a romp in the hay. The past, their backgrounds, and their current situations are more than enough to stack against them.
The story and characters are definitely worth reading about. You are pulled in by their imperfections and each man’s growth in the relationship. There were a few times I felt a little disconnect, but nothing that would make the story less of what it was. Enjoyable.
Is the passion and wanting more enough? Open your mind because you couldn’t get more diverse than an ex-Jamaican gang member and a Canadian police officer. Jump in and watch Vincent and Kyle’s story come to life.

VIP Synopsis:
VIP: The beginning: A point in time or space where something starts.
32-year-old Sebastian Vanwell, a very successful yacht broker, always loved the design and architecture of a luxurious yacht. His only addiction was being on the water. He loved it, he thrived on it, and he needed it in his life. After a very stable, loving childhood with a few bumps, Sebastian married the love of his life: the one person who he knew would always be there. Julia was his rock, and he loved her more than life itself. Sebastian kept his addiction to the water under control, wanting to keep his time with his wife and son his number one obsession. That was, until he saw her.
Ysabelle Telle hit him hard, knocking the wind from his lungs. This new addiction haunted him, the one compulsion that he couldn’t control no matter how hard he tried. Coming from worlds apart beautiful, dark, complicated Ysabelle didn’t have the rich, protected background that Sebastian had. She had lived a life of hell, growing up in poverty and horrific living conditions with a drug-addict mother who never cared. Ysabelle now lived for one person, and one person only: herself. She was pure perfection. Her beauty, along with a flawless body, had men lined up and driveling over her- ensuring her success as a VIP.
There are too many words that describe the effects when two diverse worlds like theirs collide. They both have too much to lose to get caught in the forceful pull, which could destroy them both.
Warning sex/drugs/language. Mature readers only.
Review by Dana Marie
VIP is a story of love lost and filling a void, and it
proves that no matter how happy you think you are there is always something
that will make you even happier.  There
is a chemistry here that proves where you come from, and no matter what your
past is, it does not necessarily plot your course.
Ysabelle had her share of hard knocks in her childhood. She
spent her teen years learning to adapt and move on the best way she knew
how.  It doesn’t take long before she is
a top VIP in the Madam’s keep. Then Sebastian comes in and breaks all the rules.
It takes just one look at Ysabelle and the past comes crashing in on him. Is
she Sebastian’s new obsession or the only thing to fill the empty place in his
This read has a lot of background. In fact, I would have to
say the first half of the book is all about their past. I must admit, this isn’t
normally a plus for me since it takes a little more time for the story to weave
its web around you. However, it fits in this story. Everything leading up to
Ysabelle and Sebastian meeting has great insight on the way everything plays
out. The characters weren’t overpowering and there was enough raw emotion to keep
your interest.
This is a really good read.  You have hot spots, emotion, and insight with
both the characters POV. Another great thing about this read is that the next
in the series is already out and I’m looking forward to it. I’m giving it a very
deserving 4.5 stars. Enjoy!
The Madam Synopsis:
Some people need love…
I need sex, money, control, and power.
Anyone could have those four things, but only one could have VIP. Becoming Madam was never a choice for me, it was a mandated order from the most powerful woman I knew- my mother. I was born to fill her shoes, never to make mistakes, or to show weakness.
You are the product of your environment. They say the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree; you learn from what you see, not from what you’re told. Nature vs. Nurture. I learned from it all; what I saw, what I didn’t see, what I was told, and from reading between the lines.
I was raised with the belief that the world spun ONLY because of me. I held power as far back as I can remember, saw things no one ever talks about, and witnessed illegal acts of sex, drugs, and money by the time I was eighteen.
You saw a glimpse of me in VIP, now see it from the beginning. Enter my world where anything goes; no judgments, no remorse, no guilt. You play by my rules, or you don’t play at all. There are no limits to what I can do, or to what I can show you…I will ensure my legacy by any means necessary.
My name is Lilith Veronica Stone, and I am The Madam.
Review by Dana Marie
Have you ever read a book and there are few characters that
make you wonder what brought them to that point in the story? One of those
characters you aren’t quite sure whether it’s love or hate. Well, in VIP, Madam
was one of those characters for me.
Everyone has a past and Madam is no exception to this rule. We
are taught that rules are meant to be followed, not broken. Power is having
control. Sex is control. Greed makes you step over the line. Crossing the line
doesn’t mean broken, right? Money is power, so completes the circle.
The background on this character was worth the wait. It may like
the story takes several licks to get to the Tootsie Roll center, but everyone happy
when they get there.
Seductive scenes and shedding light on how the Madam came to
be who she is will have you wondering what is on the horizon in book
three.  I recommend starting with book
one-VIP.  This read gets a well-deserved
4.5 stars.
MVP Synopsis:
I love you.
Three words that can make or break you.
I thought I needed to find myself. I thought I wasn’t happy. I thought I needed more out of life.
I didn’t.
I’m more lost now than I was when I left. I have no answers, just endless amounts of questions. It was only a matter of time until the truth came to light. I never imagined it would change my entire life and everything I thought to be true.
It was all a game.
Except I wasn’t a player.
I was a pawn.
The end.
Two words that have several meanings. I never thought I’d lose her. But did I ever really have her…
Or did VIP?
Can love conquer all?

MVP is an emotional roller coaster read that may leave you a little conflicted, in a good way though. This highly anticipated conclusion that everyone was waiting for was a great ending to the series. We all finally get closure on Ysabelle and Sebastian’s relationship.

The roles seem to be switched as Ysabelle and Sebastian work on their relationship after being apart. He shows a much more dominant side, while she takes on the insecure role. The ups and downs will keep you frustrated, but it’s also what sucks the reader in.

With this read you may want to question a few things or maybe even reach in and shake a character, but it’s worth it. It’s the closure you’ve been waiting for.  I highly recommend grabbing this series and reading the books in order. Enjoy!

M. Robinson loves to read. She favors anything that has angst, romance, triangles, cheating, love, and of course sex! She has been reading since the Babysitters Club and R.L. Stein.
She was born in New Jersey but was raised in Tampa Fl. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D in psychology, with two years left.
She is married to an amazing man who she loves to pieces. They have two German Shepherd mixes and a Tabby cat.

Tempering Steel

by Lea Barrymire

Genre: Paranormal Romance

All Romance eBooks

After months of aching to be with grumpy Sheriff Connor Manning, Margarete

Barrie finally gets her chance when a coyote shifter takes refuge in her home.

Connor’s resolve to stay away from Margie weakens when she takes in his packmate. Fighting his inner animal and jealousy makes him question his decision to leave women and love alone.

They’re thrown together to catch a trapper or hunter threatening the pack. Even the possible danger doesn’t cool the tension between them.

Lea spends her time writing, reading and working. She is both a stay at home mom and a “work from home” professional. Her knight in shining armor is not only her husband but also her best friend. Her heathen children are the entertainment that keeps her going. The stories that tumble from her fingers are definitely a combination of her fascination with science and the emotional aspect of romantic encounters.

Lea lives in Western New York with her hubby, three children, and miscellaneous critters. Before the rugrats, she lived a life of adventure, following her husband all over Europe with the US military. She’s slept in a car outside Paris, drove six hours just to see tulips in the Netherlands, and knocked ash from her shoes at Pompeii. Now she spends her time in life’s adventures at soccer games, PTA meetings and school plays.

Lea has loved reading from a very young age, spending many sleepless nights devouring books. Science fiction and paranormal were her favorite genres to read as a teenager, and that love bled into her adult life. She started writing during a bout of insomnia, to fill time, and found it filled a creative void. Now she communes regularly with the characters in her head and tries not to laugh out loud when they say something funny.

When Lea isn’t reading, writing or corralling kids, she enjoys watching movies and sciencey shows, or just kicking back and listening to some music.

Cammie has had one hell of a night. Her long-time abusive boyfriend pushed her to the limits and then a freaking wolf hit her car. While clutching a bag of frozen peas to her swollen eye she manages to rescue the animal and make it home. But what’s she do with it after that?

Ian can’t believe his luck. After a stupid decision he’s been run out of every shifter territory he’s entered. Hoping Coyote Bluff would be different seems to have been his downfall. After a bunch of coyotes chase him through the night he finds himself being coddled by a tempting woman. His canine half is already in love with her.

Cammie’s ex comes calling, Ian’s found out by the local Alpha and the town seems bent on keeping them apart. Can they fight against everyone at once to find happiness together? Better question would be will Cammie accept Ian once he admits to being the wolf she so readily confided in and nursed back to health?

Tempting the Boss by Ruby Foxx

Review by Dana Marie

This is my first Ruby Foxx read and Tempting the Boss seems to have been a great place to start.  Sometimes you just need to dive right into action, and this erotic office series of short stories did just that.

I would have loved to see another ten pages with this one. A few more descriptive details would have taken this story from hot to toe curling. Did I mention that this was a hot little read? Just checking…

The characters and the setting make a great combination and set the stage for future reads. You’ll more than enjoy following along.  I would suggest this story as a bedtime treat. It’s that little something extra that will keep your blood boiling in the cold winter months.

Where do Bella and Mr. Elliot go from here?
When Bella’s boss called her into his office to fire her last week, she tempted him into reconsidering. Now she’s wondering just what she’s gotten herself into… and can she really go through with it?
Mr. Elliott was as surprised as Ms. Grainger at the arrangement they came up with, and is more than a little excited about it, but when he calls her into his office, he is disappointed to find she’s reconsidering the situation.
Will she call off the arrangement and walk away from the job she loves?
Warning: This erotic story is for adults only. This story is filled with steamy hot sex and excitement in an office setting with a hunky, dominant boss that is sure to thrill.
This story is on sale for a limited time.
TEMPTING THE BOSS, THE ARRANGEMENT is a quick, fast-paced read.
Although this is the one of a series of stories, each story can stand alone.

Tempting the Boss, The Arrangement by Ruby Foxx

Review by Dana Marie

Tempting the Boss, The Arrangement is the second installment in the series.  It picks right up where the previous story left off.  In this read Bella begins to find out just what she has gotten herself into.

This story is short and to the point, which quite frankly I do enjoy. As with the first, I would have loved to see a little more detail to seal the connection with the characters. A little extra spark would have taken this story from steamy to smoking hot.

I suggest reading them in order, although these short stories say they can be read as a standalone.  It’s a fast paced read that will have you turning pages fast so that the action doesn’t stop. I’m looking forward to seeing how the series progresses. It is definitely a steamy read that is the perfect way to end your night. So why not give yourself a sweet bedtime treat? Dive into the series and enjoy.

About the author:
I’m Ruby Foxx, the alter ego of a New York Times best-selling erotic romance author. Think of me as the evil twin.
When I write stories, they’re short and sweet. And I don’t mean romantic sweet. I mean the sweet, melting hot eroticism of two lustful lovers succumbing to their passion.
And when I say short, I mean I get to the point and pound it home. Fast.
You’re reading these stories to get to a good place, right? O yes, I know what you want. 😉 So I’ll entice you, seduce you, then guide you to the climax.
Believe me, it’s all about the sex. But isn’t that what you want?
My other half may write erotic love stories that push the limits, but I don’t know what limits are. When you crave the titillation that only the fulfillment of your wildest fantasies can give you, look no further than my short, sexy stories.
I’m a very bad girl who will ignite your desire, propel you to the heights of passion, and leave you panting but satisfied. You know what I mean. 😉
My stories will bring you right to the heat, from foreplay to climax in a quick heady read that lasts exactly as long as it needs to. With so very much to do and so little time, a gentleman should not overstay his welcome.

Have an amazing day!

It’s Thursday!

Boy, the week sure has flown by. The week is coming to an end. What else do you do besides the happy dance for the pending weekend?

Freed by his master, running for his life toward a new beginning, Androcles takes refuge from a wolf pack in a cave, not realizing it is already occupied…by a wounded lion. The Nightingale Circus

(Broken People)

By Ioana Visan

 Amazon Link:

Book Description:

Don’t be shy and come inside! The Nightingale is waiting to take flight!

Welcome to The Nightingale Circus! Listen to the singer with an enchanting voice. Watch the knife throwers who are also prosthetic builders. Here is a telecharger on the run and a ballerina with no lungs. There is a broken pole dancer and an Asian bot. You’ll be amazed by a regular girl who becomes exquisite and frightening at the same time.

They’re better known as the famous Nightingale, the Blade Masters, the Magician, the Swan, the Firebird, the Rocket Girl, and the Golden Lady.

They are all waiting to tell you their story about how they came to the circus and why they stayed.

This is a companion short story collection to Broken People.

Review by Dana Marie

This read is not my first rodeo with Ioana Visan’s books. Let me tell you why. Mostly because her books are interesting, unique, and have characters you can easily get vested in. I had dove into “The Impaler Legacy” series previously and was ecstatic to start another of her series when asked.

There are many interesting characters. I don’t want to linger on any one specifically. You will be introduced to the Nightingale, the Blade Masters, the Magician, the Swan, the Firebird, the Rocket Girl, and the Golden Lady. Since this is a prequel to the series you will have plenty of reading time to catch up on them all. Each character has an alteration or prosthetic that brings their unique story to the table. I can tell you that I can’t wait to see how these characters really come to life.

The Nightingale Circus has a science fiction feel to it. The time of the story isn’t one hundred percent certain to me. However, it wasn’t needed to keep you reading through. I’m hoping to see more detail about the places the circus sets up in the future stories. Since this is the start of “The Broken People” series, I have no doubt in my mind that Ioana Visan will disappoint in any way.

Are you looking for a different read? Then this book is for you. It has interesting characters, a unique story, and promise of more to come. I’m really looking forward to continuation of this series.
